Russian Coursing Championship 7th-8th of May 2006 took place at the St Petersburgs' suburb Stary Petergof at Troitska Gora.

There were 129 dogs registered: 53 Russian Psovaya Borzaya (firther RPB), 10 Italian Greyhounds, 5 Hortayas, 3 Salukis, 16 Tazies, 11 Greyhounds, 30 Whippets, 1 Pharaon Hound.

Judges: Vera Emelianova and Marina Egorova from Russia.
 
At the 7th may run RPBs, hortayas, salukis,  italian greyhounds and pharaon hound.
RPB competed their runs only at 18:00, then ought to be hortayas. It was very sunny and about +15°C, but we were horribly frozen because strong icy wind.
 
First hortaya run was completed by 3 males (Almir, Saracen and Argo) up to any reason...
Saracen put the "bad eye" to Argo exactly at the start point, althrough Almir had tried to return to the "hare house". They all started together, Almir was first, then Saracen and Argo kept himself a bit back. Saracen followed Almir and gained upon favorite in the narrow gally where he bited Almir at his thigh. Offended Almir forgot about "hare" and gained to understanding to offender. At that time Argo had happily run over the fighting rivals and got finish. Saracen was disqualified because agression and Almir had got the possibility to re-run.
 
Second hortaya run was done by females Solnechnaya Ldinka (Dashka) and Kronverkskaya Kniaginiushka. They also started simultaneously, but after about 50 meters Kniaginiushka begun to intrude into Dashka and both females came back to start. Kniaginiushka was disqualified and Dashka had got the re-run..


Third run (re-run) did Dashka and Almir. They did it without complications.
 
Final run three dogs again: Almir, Dashka and Argo. They did it without problems.
 
Results up to 2 runs:
Kronverkskiy Almir -Russian coursing champion (85,34 pts)
Expressive Hort Argamak (Argo) -2nd place CACL (82,83 pts)
Solnechnaya Ldinka (Dashka) -3rd place R.CACL (77,84 pts)


We went home satisfied and happy.
